Positive Influence

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Often, we get influenced by other people easily.  We go with the flow, do what the society dictates or believe on what was already set on our minds.  It would be of great advantage if we are influenced positively.  But there are instances that we are influenced with the negative one.  Here’s an inspiring quote from Oprah:

“Surround yourself only with people who will lift you higher”

- Oprah Winfrey

If you are surrounded by people with negative outlook in life, you’ll be more likely to be influenced by them.  Surround yourself with positive people.  Those who believe in you, believe in themselves, motivated people, those who sees your strength instead of your weaknesses, and especially those with the positive aura.  If you are surrounded with these people, you will become more positive that will lead you to success.

“What If?”

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

The “what if” question is sometimes what makes us fail.  It hinders us from trying things out and develops fear in us.  We usually think of the negative result that might happen.  Here are some examples”

  • What if I fail?
  • What if I don’t do it right?
  • What if I don’t finish on time?
  • What if I can’t do it?

Those are just few of what we usually think if have to do something to achieve our dreams.  We always have fear.  But we should realize that if we don’t do anything, we will never know the answer to those “what if” questions.  Those questions will only discourage us from trying things out.  Remember that by not trying to do it, we already failed.  So why not think of the positive “what if?”  Let’s try these:

  • What if I succeed? - this will help us envision success that will motivate us to do it.
  • What if I can actually do it right?  - this way, we will believe on our own strength.
  • What if I start it now? - this will give us the energy to start achieving our goals or dreams.
  • What if I’ll try to do it? - this will help us get motivated to work on our goals.

Staying Away From Procrastination

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Procrastinators, as what I’ve found out, are made not born.  It is said that our home is our first school and our first teachers are our parents.  We grow within our home and therefore certain habits can be developed there as well and that includes procrastination.  As a child, we may not notice or realize what we are doing.  So the only ones who can prevent procrastination from developing are the parents.

Here are some points that parents may apply:

  • Be a model to your children.  Don’t procrastinate.
  • Discipline your children but don’t be too harsh.
  • Make them understand why they should not put their tasks later or some other time.
  • Teach them to use planners.
  • Reward system.  Offer a reward for the things that they have done on time.
  • Set a house rule of their tasks to be done on time.  Like dishes should be washed right after meal.

These are only few of the things that can be done to avoid your children from being a procrastinator.  It is best not to introduce to them what procrastination is.  Habits or values learned while they are young stays even when they grow old.

Getting Successful Through the Law of Attraction

Friday, February 8th, 2008

If you think that the law of attraction is not effective on you, think of the reason why.  The law of attraction, as what I have posted here before, is about being positive.  But sometimes, we may not realize that we also have to be more aggressive.  We must not just think that we can achieve our dreams or goals to be positive.  But we must also believe that we can achieve it.

Being positive is not only about thinking or believing.  You must also strive to achieve your dreams or goals.  When you say that you will be able to finish your task in time, it helps to believe in that.  But you also have to do continue doing it so that you can really finish it in time.  Thinking and believing that you can finish it in time is what helps you to stay motivated.

Some may think that you just have to think and believe of something for it to happen.  Yes it will but you must be doing the process.  The law of attraction only helps you to achieve your dreams or goals.  Its not the one who makes it possible, but you.  It gives you hope and motivation.  It also helps in making you more aggressive and confident in achieving your goals and dreams.
